I love this movie for many reasons, but I understand why some people can be disturbed by it. What I like it's his very Kafkaesque script, like a modern adaptation of The Trial and The Metamorphosis : the "hero" is not someone you can follow at the beginning, he seems so "pathetic" and "primary" (the common human with a little moustache, a hideous tie, a little life...), but he will be forced to review his prejudices. While he becomes an alien, he'll become more human too. The movie shows too how you can suddenly feel like a stranger in front of so-called friends. An action movie, yes (no times for the breathing), but a very thought one.
- 500 days of Summer :
A perfect romantic comedy, which is not a "love story" ! ^^+ Very funny, very fresh, with many original and nice ideas. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel are very pleasant. A very good surprise !
- Mary & Max :
An impressive animation for a very moving story. I was in tears at the end and I don't know what to say more.
- 9 :
An other impressive animation : the details are just stunning ! The atmosphere is very dark and sinister, I don't know if little children can love this movie. The story is interesting (maybe a little repetitive like a video game : you have a monster, then an other monster, then an other monster...). I was just a little disappointing by the end with the flight of the souls : beautiful, but a little away from the point. But I love this movie.
- Eyes wide open :
The Israeli film about two men who love each other in an ultra-orthodox community. Beautiful story very well done, which show how the extremism can urge the man to decimate the man, his own will, desires and life.
- Thirst :
The Korean vampire movie presented in Cannes's festival of this year. I like it, because the director follows through all his ideas, his demons and his phantasms. Some effects are not perfect and the sometimes very special humour, which seems loving to play with a ludicrous sense of absurd, can be difficult to "embrace" (I personally like it). But it's also a very stange and yet faithful adaptation of Thérère Raquin by the French autor Emile Zola [link]
- Julie & Julia :
Perfect Meryl Streep ! I love his sense of revenge against onions !
- The Informant :
Very disappointing and though not unplesant. Matt Damon is excellent, the acting is very good in general. I like the photography. But the direction could be more effective and the script better done. And I think the trailer of the movie was not good : we could expect a comedy and it's not really a "comedy". It's not a spying movie too, not really a "thriller"... It's a little "unclassified" ! ^^+

Nothing wrong with doing something strictly for the joy of it - don't have to reinvent the wheel. Just here to have fun. Like my feedback? Put me on your dAwatch & let's make it a 2-way street.
I try to be "dedicated", but I know I must work and work again. Apart from some drawing class in school when I was young, I'm "self-taught" and there are many art techniques I can't use because I don't know them. But I love the India ink : I have fun with that ! ^^
I must see your gallery again : I choose a favourite very quickly (marvellous Spock : sorry, I didn't comment), but I love your style and I must choose some others ! ^^+

There have always been ghosts in the machine.
And I hope you will write the next chapter soon !
